Above, 8 rescue and foster friends take a break from playing to accept a treat.
For the next week or so, I am going to collaborate with my humans on a series for the blog. They were asked to write a short piece on "Why we volunteer for Rescue", for the rescue newsletter. By the time the short piece was done, it was 6 pages and still growing. The rescue only had room to print a few of the stories on our fosters and their journey through life. The story may never be done because each new foster that comes through our home is another story, another life that can be helped to find a new life, a new beginning.
Above, four friends wait patiently for our family to return from shopping.
We need to ask a favor of you. We will be telling the stories of many of the dogs that we and others have rescued and telling how they were helped along their way. It is a long story and an important story, especially for those who are not involved in rescue daily and do not understand what these dogs go through and how they are helped on a journey to a new life. We are nearing 70 fosters that we have helped but our volunteers have helped thousands to date. Each one is a story, each one is a reason for joy, each one is a reason for tears. We want the world to know why these dogs become "orphans", and we want the world to know how they are helped to find new lives by the hundreds of rescue volunteers that help them along the way. Can you make it a point to help us find new readers? Read our stories and then help by passing them along. We are seeking to give more people a reason to get involved, more volunteers to help save a few more lives.
Thank you,
Mogley G. Retriever

Let's rescue as many Goldens as we can! I'll help. It's too bad we are so misunderstood...

You Goldens are the best story tellers. We always want to find new readers to find new people...one of the them may be a future rescuer or adopter. I'm on it! I'll get Momma to help!

God bless you Mogley & your humans for such a GReat job you do fostering and finding new homes for Goldens.
ReplyDeleteMy Apples is a rescue doggie & she couldn't be happier after coming "home" after 10 1/2 years of being outdoors 24/7. The love & joy she gives me & Neeli is unbelievable. And as we are reaching the end of our days together (she has malignant mammary cancer), she has taught me the meaning of living life fully and being strong when meeting challenges.
Extra hugs to you & your family,
Nadine Apples & Neeli
