Dog Cruelty

We had another e-mail from Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR). We have a big influx in new dogs, several under very bad circumstances. The call is out for foster homes to help these dogs until they can find their forever homes.

One puppy in particular was described by the animal control officer that took him away from his home as "being used as a football". This puppy was only 6 months old and probably did not respond fast enough to commands, was not trained or schooled in them, so his owner took out his frustration on him by kicking him.

We have a puppy to place in that home.
I dare you to kick this puppy!

    It is so sad about the little puppy used as a football! Too bad he couldn't defend himself like this little pup in the picture! lol! We are glad he is with GRRR now.

    You are such an inspiration to me. I wish I lived closer to help foster these animals. I will be looking into being a foster home here in Cleveland.

    things like this absolutely make my blood run cold. The horror of of some people creates such a rage in me. WHEN THE MOVIE MARLEY AND ME CAME OUT, MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS HOW MANY PEOPLE WOULD LOOK TO ADOPT OR BUY LABS FOR CHRISTMAS. THEN THE MAJORITY OF THEM WILL GROW TIRED OF THE NOVELTY AND EITHER DUMP THEM OR ABUSE THEM. SO MANY PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE THE RESPONSIBILITY A PET REQUIRES. THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT WE ARE SUPOSE TO HAVE ANIMALS IN SUBJECTION TO US, WHICH MEANS TO TAKE CARE OF THEM , NOT TO USE THEM AS A PUNCHING BAG. WITH ALL OF THE ECONOMIC PROBLEMS OF TODAY, MORE AND MORE PEOPLE WILL INCREASE THEIR FRUSTRATION LEVEL AND NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR PETS. IT ALWAYS WORRIES ME WHEN I HEAR OF THESE ABUSE CASES, BECAUSE I KNOW HOW MAY MORE ARE OUT THERE THAT WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT.BLESS YOU FOR ALL YOU DO. I LOVED READING ABOUT MOGLEY'S PARTY AND HIS PLAYING WITH HIS FAMILY AND ALL HIS TOYS!! OH, DON'T WE WISH ALL ANIMALS HAD SUCH LOVE.

    Hey Mogley,
    And people say that "man has evolved." Couldn't prove it with that pups "owners" who have obviously drained the gene pool. Max and Shiloh say that they would gladly take the pups place but the "owner" would probably not think it would be a fair fight against a dog more their own size. Good luck on your foster placement campaign. Beam us up Scotty, there's no intelligent life on this planet. Who loves ya baby; we do.

    Please ask your humans to report the terrible animal cruelty you have written about to the local district attorney or other appropriate authorities. We love your blog and the wonderful rescue work that you all are doing.
